LR Optional Equipment specialises in the restoration, remanufacture and documentation of period Land Rover accessories and conversions, including Winches, Power Take Offs & Free Wheeling Hubs.

LR Optional Equipment caters for all types of Land Rover manufactured from 1948 to 1990 including Land Rover Series vehicles, Range Rover Classics and the Land Rover Ninety / One Ten.

LR Optional Equipment aims to become the one stop location for all your optional extra requirements, from a fully reconditioned Land Rover Hydraulic Winch to a Free Wheel Hub service kit.

Not only is this website an outlet for the products sold by LR Optional Equipment but it should be used as a reference for anybody interested in approved Land Rover Optional Equipment.

Following a career in the Royal Air Force, cut short by illness, the founder of LR Optional Equipment, Rob Maude, developed his passion for Land Rovers from a hobby into a business. Rob has been surrounded by Land Rovers from an early age, purchasing his first Land Rover at the age of 13. During his time in the RAF, Rob worked with the vehicles on a daily basis, often in hostile areas, developing an unreserved respect for the capabilities of the Land Rover.

After purchasing an incomplete Capstan Winch for his Series 2a, an extensive collection soon followed. Finding little information on this subject, Rob took it on himself to become the leading subject matter expert on approved Land Rover Optional Equipment. A large collection of Optional Equipment soon followed and it was from this collection that the business naturally evolved.

LR Optional Equipment’s primary aim is to provide ‘turn key’ products, which are ready to fit. To achieve this, many parts that are difficult to source, are to be remanufactured to the highest standards using UK manufacturers. One of his first remanufactured and most successful products to date is the Free Wheel Hub service kits for both the Fairey & Mayflower Automotive Products types.  LR Optional Equipment’s secondary aim is to collate, document and publish accurate information on this little researched topic.
